For this discussion, locate the food pyramid on the US Department of Agriculture website and create an adapted food pyramid based upon your culture, location, and availability of food.

In your initial post, create an adapted food pyramid based upon the foods from your culture and location/availability that:

  • Adapts each specific item in each section of the food pyramid.
  • Explains the substitutions of items based upon culture and location/availability.
  • Describes how this adapted food pyramid could be used to support health behaviors.
  • Illustrates the cultural significance of foods or periods of food restrictions.
