Quantitative Research: Article Summary (20 points)
This assignment is aimed at giving you an opportunity to select and summarize the analysis in a real quantitative research study. This should be a 2 – 4 page paper that meets the general writing guidelines which are outlined in the syllabus. Please use the suggested category headings. For example:
Research design; Data Analysis; Results ETC.
This assignment should be carried out as follows:
Step #1: Study selection – You have a choice among 5 articles written about research studies. The articles are provided as PDF file attachments in the Assignment 1 folder. Browse through all the 5 articles. Select ONE of them to use for this Assignment.
Step #2: Summary: Write a 2 – 4 page summary and analysis of the key aspects of the article you selected. In this summary you should cover the following items from the article:
- Describe the research hypothesis in the article
- Describe the type of quantitative research design selected and why this design was chosen by the author(s), i.e. Descriptive, Correlational, Causal-comparative/quasi-experimental research or Experimental research.
