Question 1:
The final chapter in your textbook discusses the end of life and the dying process. While difficult for any of us to confront, it is a process that, nevertheless, we all must face eventually. Discuss processes or ways individuals may prepare for the process of death, and how can we assist others during this transition. Please specific about your viewpoints, observations, or findings.
Question 2:
Elizabeth Kübler-Ross presented a major theory in the process of dying, which is in your text. Her theory represents a series of stages people may undergo in accepting their eventual passing. While the end of life may mark a sad, mournful time, there are other cultural perspectives that state that the end of life can be a time of great reflection and finding purpose in one’s life.
Reflect on your own end of life. How do you think you would live your last days if you knew that you would not live past a certain point? How do you think you would cope with this realization? Give deep thought to this question. Share your insights and words of wisdom with the class.
