400/450 3 paragragh essay
Choose only ONE question per topic, and write a coherent, well-organized essay, using concepts from the text of no less that 400-450 words (Three full Paragraphs) that responds to the question in its entirety. Following direction from section 5 (grading system) of syllabus–write clearly, include what you have learned in this unit without copying, cite your source, and apply the concept learned to the topic chosen. Read directions carefully and cover all aspects in a logical, well-organized essay.
- For full credit, remember to use a quote and list the textbook as reference at the end.
- Respond to two other student”s AP’s.
- You will need to post your AP first before you will see other students work.

- After watching the video Techniques to Enhance Learning and Memory by Nancy D. Chiaravalloti: TEDxHerndon, use the information you have learned in this video and the textbook to write a “tips” flyer on how to encode, store, and retrieve information. Include methods to help build memory. Be sure to use a format and language (with examples) that ordinary students will understand and find useful.. Remember to quote your reference.Remember to quote your reference. And make sure you have equivalent to three paragraphs of information just like a regular AP.
This unit we are studying the models and biological basis of memory. This will also include topics on what changes memory, memory distortions and what causes forgetting. In this class you do not have to memorize material, however in future classes, particularly if you transfer to UC system or nursing/medical school you will have to memorize a lot of details. This Chapter textbook and videos includes tips for improving memory (Mnemonic Devices), as well as other principles in the chapter, that may help you in your education for the future. Watch the following video explaining methods of techniques to improve memory particularly for individuals with medical or mental disorders that interfere with memory.

Dr. Daniel Schacter, Professor of Psychology at Harvard University, is a premier investigator/researcher in the area of memory. He also has written a book called The Seven Sins of Memory: How the Mind Forgets and Remembers. He summarized his work on memory and how it can trick us.
