The scientific method allows us to pose questions, test questions, and analyze results. Ethics is always inclusive of research, as we must protect participants and be aware of appropriate methods for obtaining information.
Through observation and research we begin to understand the world around us. Consider research you have read about or been a part of: Was the scientific method followed? How? What ethical considerations are important to research?
After sharing your thoughts, please respond to at least two other classmates’ posts.
Peer Response: Ethics is defined as a set of moral principles and values that society has set. when conducting scientific research ethics are followed but there is a line that some consider unethical and others believe it to still uphold ethical values. An example of current research being done that has an ethical dilemma is stem cell research. Stem cells can be taken from embryos, which are then killed. some believe that is murder and others do not believe that the embryo is saving other’s lives so it is okay to take stem cells from embryos. all scientific research is done using the scientific method, if not followed it wouldn’t be considered valid research, or answer to a hypothesis.
