For this individual project, you will draft a proposal that responds to either (a) a pressing problem at Franklin University, (b) a pressing problem in your place of work, or (c) a problem facing your local community. Students then will choose to write either a Franklin Innovation proposal, a workplace proposal, or a community proposal. Each option has a distinct set of instructions that are attached here:
- Project Proposal Franklin Option – use this if you are responding to a pressing problem at Franklin University
- Workplace Proposal Assignment – use this if you are responding to a problem in your place of work
- Community Proposal Option – use this if you are responding to a problem in your community
Regardless of the option you choose, the proposal you draft should offer a clear and compelling solution to a particular problem faced by a specific community. In addition to drawing on a range of research and evidence in your proposal, you should also draw on a range of rhetorical strategies to persuade your audience. The proposal should also realize relevant genre conventions which are detailed in the assignment sheet and will be discussed throughout the unit.
While proposals can vary depending on the project pursued, your document should be at least 2000 words and cite a minimum of four secondary sources. Most proposals will substantially exceed these minimums.
