Part 1: Stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination,

Answer the following (from Saylor Foundation, n.d.).

1. Describe a time when the members of one of your important social groups behaved in a way that increased group identity (e.g., showing the black sheep effect). What was the outcome of the actions?

2. Imagine you are a teacher in a classroom and you see that some children expressing prejudice or discrimination toward other children on the basis of their race. What techniques would you use to attempt to reduce these negative behaviors?

Part 2:

We’ve had some terrific discussions and I’ve really enjoyed collaborating with you all in our journey to understand more about how humans are in groups. What are you taking with you as you venture forth in your personal growth?
