Abstracts (no more than 1-2 pages in length, double-spaced):
Please use the following format, exactly, to write your abstracts:
I. Full APA style reference for the article that you are abstracting (Not all of the references are in APA
styles; be sure to check that this is correct, or you will lose points).
II. Summarize the thesis or main idea of this article in one or two clear and concise sentences. You
might accomplish this by beginning your sentence with, “The author(s) argued that…”You will be
penalized if your abstract exceeds 2-pages.
III. List three main points from the chapter or the article. These should be two to three sentences each.
(Your goal is to give other students the benefit of your evaluation of the material).
IV. Analyze the article using the following headings:
a. What are the results and/or conclusions?
b. How do these points relate to the topics and themes addressed in classwork?
c. Briefly discuss the article’s strengths and weaknessesPresentations:
There will be no live abstract presentations for this class.
All article presentations must be narrated PowerPoint or YouTube Presentations.
Some or all of these will be presented in class as video presentations
If there are conflicts along the way that cause you to change your presentation schedule, you may change your
presentation day to accommodate an emergency situation, but you must contact the individual who is scheduled
to present at the time you want to present and work that out among yourselves. You must communicate your
issue, if possible, no less than one week in advance of your scheduled presentation. Class introductions (please
post a YouTube video in the appropriate Assignments sub-section for grading and in Google Drive in the Week 1
3
folder for the class to see. Additionally, post written abstracts and narrated PowerPoint Presentations on
Blackboard and in Google Drive, in the same manner. The written abstract and the presentation must be from the same article.
Written Abstract: to be written in the format shown above.
Narrated PowerPoint presentation: should be based on the written abstract
5-10 slides in length and take no more than 10 minutes
It is important that students not just read the slides in the narration. They should be prompts to guide
your topic. I will deduct points if you simply read the slides. I want to know what you got out of the
article you are presenting.

Please write the abstract (no more than 1-2 pages) and make a powerpoint and also write the presentation draft or transcript to me. Thank u
