preschool Portfolio Interview and summary

For this assignment you are a preschool teacher and You will visit a classroom in which preschool portfolios are prominent; it can be the classroom where you are administering the DRDP and/or the ECERS-R. The students are 3 year years old.You will interview the teacher, or director in relation to the portfolio system that they use in their preschool classroom. You will write a 5 page summary (typed-12 pt. font & double spaced) that reflects on your interview.

Introduction

Provide an introduction in which you discuss who you interviewed, the type of center, etc.

Body

You must include the following seven questions in addition to others you may have:

1. How did you decide on the portfolio system that you use?
2. How do you schedule assessment activities?
3. What documentation strategy do you use to compile the data?
4. What use do the students make of their portfolios?
5. How are the portfolios used to share information with families?
6. How does the content in the portfolio connect with the goals and objectives in your program’s assessment system?
7. How is the portfolio system used to increase developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for the children?

Conclusion

Provide a conclusion in which you discuss the three most important things you have learned from this interview, whether you will utilize portfolios in the same way as the person you interviewed or differently – and why.
