Budget, Timeline, and Marketing Tool
Imagine that you have acquired funding for the health program that you designed and developed. You are eager to begin implementing your program, but there are still some things to do to ensure that your program is successful. The director of your organization has asked that you present a report of your program budget and timeline for approval. In addition, you are asked to prepare one marketing tool that you will use to communicate your message.
Your budget and timeline should be presented on one document with rationale and explanations below each. Your marketing tool should be submitted separately as either a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or PDF.
Part I: Budget
- You have obtained a $200,000 grant to implement your proposed program.
- Review Figure 10.2 of the textbook for an example budget, and create a budget dividing up the $200,000 and allocating it to the categories listed, according to the needs of your public health program.
- Provide an explanation and rationale for your allocation of funds.
- Include in the explanation the in-kind contributions you expect from partners (see text page 279).
Part 2: Timeline
Nathan, 4 years old
- Develop a basic timeline using a Gantt or PERT Chart and present it in graphical form as in one of the samples from Chapter 12 of the textbook.
- Describe your rationale for the basic timeline of your program plan in one or two paragraphs.
Part 3: Marketing
- Prepare one marketing product that could be used to reach potential participants. This may be a video, flyer, brochure, PSA, or podcast. See the resources for examples and ideas.
- Describe your target population and why this type of marketing will be effective to reach them.
