There are many wonderful people migrating from all over the world coming to the United States. The United States is considered the melting pot because of diverse cultures living in the same region. If you are working in a hospital that services such a diverse population, you will have patients from different backgrounds and beliefs. This should never
prohibit you from providing excellent care but you may have to be creative in how you explain difficult clinical concepts. This will require you to think outside the box. You must take a mechanism from physiology and explain it to a patient, but do not use medical terms. This will determine how well you understand the mechanism. For example, you can create a scenario about mitosis, skeletal muscle contraction, blood flow through the heart, or any other topic of your choice. Describe the mechanism in common everyday language to demonstrate your in-depth knowledge.
