Compare and contrast the “Then and Now” project. Include the following steps. YYou can also use information from the textbook, powerpoints, videos, websites and lessons. Be sure to list your sources.

You will have 2 options as to how you want to complete this project. Choose one (1). Your work; your creativity.
1. Compare and Contrast Diagrams and Research Paper (MLA format), this should be 3-4 pages. Use the Writing rubric for discussion posts as your guide. OR
2. PowerPoint/Prezi presentation (approximately 8-10 slides) that you create, not copy.
Step 1: Make a timeline of the racial relations from 1619 with African Americans up to the Present and various Movements used and methods used to attempt to gain equal protection.
Step 2: Compare and contrast the the treatment of African Americans (then and now), and in particular by the police and other law enforcement agencies. Use examples, court cases, pictures and data leading up to the present. Incorporate the role of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Be creative in your presentations.
Step 3: Discuss how racism has been established in our government and how these issues violate the Declaration of Independence and/or The United States Constitution.
