The syllabus : A SCORE IS THE GOAL
Introduction: I will reply to e-mail at least once a day. I always reply to every e-mail I receive. So sometimes you will simply receive a “received” message from me indicating I have received your e-mail. So if I do not send a reply I did not get your message. This course will require students to spend at least three hours a week to complete the online course content, links, assignments, discussions, and quizzes. Please be aware that the weekly assigned chapters will need to be read as well. Assignments must be submitted correctly to receive credit for the work completed. Cheating of any kind on any assignment, quiz, exam, discussion, or chat will not be tolerated. A zero will be given for that grade and the name of the student will be reported to the Dean of the School of Business.
Academic Athletes: If you know of an upcoming event that you will need to be out of town to participate, please let me know immediately. If you are gone the entire week, I can get the assignment to you early, but not after the due date of the assignment. If you are only going to be gone part of the week, then you have seven days to choose from to get the assignment done before you need to attend your event. Assignments will not be accepted late. No exceptions. If you do not have a working computer, electricity, or access to the internet at home/dorm/apartment for any given reason, the assignment still must be submitted on time. Get to a campus computer lab, a local library, or the computer of a friend/neighbor/relative. No late assignments will be accepted.
If Blackboard is giving you difficulties submitting, please e-mail your assignment prior to the due date to tFeel free to also (after submitting through the assignment dropbox) submit a copy of your assignment via campus e-mail or Blackboard e-mail to ensure I receive your assignment prior to the due date.
Additional information: Marketing strategies are discovered through collaborating with peers. Suggesting improvements or adding to ideas strengthens the strategies and ultimately may increase your desired goal. This course will require students to write papers regarding their opinions and suggestions. The students will also need to share their ideas and thoughts through discussions. The interaction will allow students to respond to one another and give suggestions for possible concept improvement. Discussions will be graded not only on completion, but also on content. Just as the word indicates, discussions will elaborate on your ideas. This is your chance to convey to the instructor and your peers how well you understand the material and your creative input. Be sure to take the time to thoroughly explain your ideas to avoid confusion or omitting valuable information. The textbook reading will give students the terminology and concepts of marketing. The course content will be the instructor’s examples, continued discussion of topics, questions to allow students the opportunity to explore their opinions and to stimulate creativity. The assignments will give students the opportunity to apply the learned concepts.
