This is the first step for this group assignment. It will only be a draft for me and show me if it is done correctly, I will proceed with the same person for the final part next week. I need ONLY the two things that are highlighted answered in detail and with correct grammar. The organization is a nonprofit –EX–The Salvation Army.. DO NOT focus on the organization but that it is nonprofit (not corporate) Be creative- I have attached several things to assist but they need to be read in detail.
- Deliverable #1 – Set of Strategies
DO THIS—-Provide me with 5 strategies for a nonprofit organization. Give me a reason why these are considered good strategies.
The first expected deliverable of A0601 is a set of strategies (key strategies) that should be pursued so the organization can successfully manage current and future challenges and opportunities, optimize performance (at the enterprise, department/group, and individual levels), and be resilient and sustainable.
There are no inherently wrong strategies. However, the strategies must consider /respond to (1) the organization’s current mission, vision, and values and presumed strategic direction; (2) events and changing conditions in the external environment; and (3) the organization’s current capabilities – including areas of vulnerability. Furthermore, each recommended strategy must be defensible.
Note: I think you will find it helpful to read “Making Strategy – Learning by Doing” and examine the “Vision to Projects Schematic” both located in the ‘Making Strategy Cluster’ within the Module 6 Course Materials. Also, read the two articles by Emsholf on Strategic Assumption Analysis (first read “Improving Effectiveness…” followed by “Defining Corporate Strategy – Case Study”).
- Deliverable #2 – Strategic Goal and Set of Smart Objectives
DO THIS–Establish a strategic goal and several SMART objectives for each key strategy formulated above1.
The goal will, of course, pertain directly to the strategy. Each SMART objective will, by itself, or combined with other related objectives establish the basis for a specific initiative, project or program to achieve the objective(s). In turn, each initiative, project or program will have its own goal and specific objectives. [Refer to the Vision to Projects Schematic].
IMPORTANT POINT: My intent is to provide an understanding of the “cascading” nature of strategic planning. Innovative strategic thinking leads to big ideas and significant strategy opportunities for major improvement. However, these ideas and strategies need to be effectively implemented within the organization to realize their potential. This requires strategic planning – systematic, logical, organized, sequential activities that fit with the organization’s history, readiness, culture and capacity for change.
