Focus your research on the development of emotions and feelings in very young children, infant and toddler fears and parent strategies for helping them cope, resiliency and healthy emotional development, caregiving strategies that promote resiliency, and how adults can support a child’s sense of self-direction and self-regulation.
Assignment:
Design a newsletter to distribute to parents at your childcare center that provides information, tips, and resources for supporting infant and toddler social and emotional development and its importance. Include all of the following information when creating your newsletter:
1. Define attachment and explain its role in emotional development.
2. Describe the development of emotions and feelings in infant and toddlers.

b. fear
c. anger
d. self-calming techniques
3. Explain temperament and resiliency in infant and toddlers.
4. Provide a minimum of three strategies and/or activities that parents can implement at home to support their child’s social and emotional development for each of the following:
d. supporting self-direction and/or self-regulation
i. Provide a brief summary of the strategy and/or activity, the area of social and emotional development supported, and provide an example of how to execute the strategy and/or implement the activity to provide clarification for parents
ii. You should have 12 strategies and/or activities total (3 for each bullet point above)
5. Include a minimum of two color photos relating to the information presented in your newsletter.
