Pioneer Academy United States vs China Economy Questions

Need help with my Business question – I’m studying for my class.

There are 4 questions this assignment (in addition to watching 1 video). Think very carefully about each one, and in particular, be specific (and detailed) in your responses to Questions 2 & 3. See rubric for this assignment (on Canvas as well).

1.   Question #1: Before watching the video, ask someone (friend, parent, sibling or any other person of your choice), where they would prefer to live – U.S. or China? (assuming that they were fluent in Mandarin Chinese – just so that language would not be an issue) AND WHY??? (Please do not forget to ask them “Why?” because their reasons will help you support your response – and support is always needed when responding to any question. Video: Please watch the entire PBS video (link provided on syllabus.)

2.   Question #2: Citing facts (from the text, power points, discussion, video or other sources) compare and contrast how China and the U.S. have become economic superpowers over time.

3. Question #3: How would you respond to the following comment?  “The China/U.S. relationship is the Cold War of the 21st Century” Again, please use facts (from lectures (or text), or other sources AND THE VIDEO) in responding to this question.

4. Question #4: Do you think that the person you interviewed for Question #1 would change their answer in light of your answers to Questions #2 & 3?

***Your final written assignment should be up 4 pages in length (double spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins on all 4 sides). Be specific… I am looking for answers supported with facts rather than your “gut-feel” or personal opinion…If you feel that you could find additional support for your arguments from other sources (as I suggested), then feel free to use them as long as you cite them properly (APA or MLA style). If you do use other sources, then the last page (i.e., your “References” page does NOT count in your 4 page requirement. However, make sure that the final page is also consistent in format with the APA or MLS style that you chose.
