QUESTIONS

  1. Three particles are on the x-axis: they are at x1=-1.00mm, x2=0.00 mm, and x3 = +1.00mm.
All particles have charge +1.00nC.** All particles have mass 1.00 mg.
The middle particle is held in place and the other two are released.
How fast are the other two particles moving when they are very far away?
  2. Consider two dust particles:
    Particle 1: LaTeX: vec{r}_1=1.00 mm~hat{i}-3.00mm~hat{j}r 1 = 1.00 m m i ^ 3.00 m m j ^ , LaTeX: m_1=1.50~gm 1 = 1.50 g and LaTeX: q_1=50.0nCq 1 = 50.0 n C
    Particle 2: LaTeX: vec{r}_1=-2.00 mm~hat{i}+3.00mm~hat{j}r 1 = 2.00 m m i ^ + 3.00 m m j ^ , LaTeX: m_1=1.50~gm 1 = 1.50 g, and LaTeX: q_1=50.0nCq 1 = 50.0 n C
Find the electric potential (V) they create at the origin.
  3. If the electric potential is given by LaTeX: V(x,y,z)=x^2z+y^2V ( x , y , z ) = x 2 z + y 2. Find the E-field vector at x=1, y=2, z=-2.
