Hello,
This is actually a Film Lighting Diagram Homework Assignment.
Instruction:
Lighting Diagram Homework Assignment
The purpose of a Lighting Diagram is to pre-visualize the look of a scene, the strategy, and logistics of location and/or studio setting. It helps budget gear from fixtures to gels, diffusion materials, and a myriad of grip/electric tools. Plus, it gives a rough idea of lighting levels the DP wants to work with, the lighting ratio, among other details. By going through this process it will expedite the work on a film set and keep the creative/technical process on track.
Use the floor plan provided (based on the studio 8 set) to complete your diagram.
The ‘Lighting Diagram – Example’ file is to illustrate how to indicate lighting levels in f/stops at the actor’s positions, and how to label light sources with gels and diffusion. This file is not the floor plan to use for your assignment.
Please indicate the following:
fixtures and the areas you are lighting
the gels & diffusion used
light levels inside the set for key, fill, kicker among others (f/stop at the actor’s positions for key and fill, backlight)
camera settings – the stop, ISO, white balance, lighting ratio, focal length, genre, day or night.
Other details:
Provide a computer generated schematic diagram, not had drawn.
Make sure to print your diagram and use color to help visualize different light units.
Upload files as JPEG or PDF files to Moodle (max 10MB).
Your assignment will not be accepted if:
You use the incorrect floor plan
You do not include lighting levels for your actor’s positions
You do not complete the camera settings, including: the genre, time of day, lighting ratio, camera white balance, f/stop and ISO.
