Can you help me understand this Philosophy question?
1.) Social determinants of health (SDOH) cover education, working conditions, food, exercise, housing, and much more. Some hospitals are engaged in providing housing and food for people in their regions. Is this appropriate, or should these social issues be left to agencies better equipped to deal with them? In other words, how should we find the right balance between involvement in “upstream” influences on health, and keeping healthcare institutions focused and efficient?
2.) Should nursing home staff be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19? Review the main reasons for and against such a policy, and then pick a side. Either explain why such a policy should be avoided, or defend putting this policy in place. Be sure that your response includes an application of ethical theories or principles we’ve covered.
