Personal Statement for summer undergraduate research program

Prompt: Please describe any research or other substantive practical experiences in research and provide the names of faculty mentor(s), institution, length of project in months and approximate hours per week of effort, if applicable. For one or more of these experiences, please describe the work, your specific contributions and what you have learned that will make you an outstanding candidate for this program. If discussing research, please explain the rationale for and hypothesis of the project and any results and conclusions from your experiments. If you do not have any research experience, please describe what this program can do to assist in your career goals and why you are interested in becoming a participant.

As I do not have any research experience, I wish to write about why I chose this program and how it can assist me in my career goals. My career goal is to pursue an MD/PhD. Right now I am a senior in undergrad. This summer research program basically helps you find a lab you’re interested in working at and then trains you to perform research in neuroscience.

The max word limit is 3500 characters and spaces.
