Pathology discussion #12

For this week’s discussion, we are going to revisit our SOAP note practice and post images relating to our notes and see if our classmates can figure out which image matches your note.

Remember, when writing notes about a suspicious lesion that you identify during your clinical examinations, this content should go under the “O” portion of your note. This is objective information meaning that you can physically see and measure and describe it.

So, for this week’s post, please complete the following:

1) Search the internet to find a lesion that corresponds to one covered in this week’s lectures.

2) Develop a description of your lesion and post this under the “O” portion of your SOAP note. Please provide the S, O, A, and P portions of your note as well. Try to use information from other sections of your notes to help your classmates identify your lesions, such the ages of your patients or any medical history information that may contribute to their condition etc.

3) Find 2 other images of conditions that are similar to your initial lesion, but have characteristics that your classmate’s can use to determine which is the correct image.

4) Respond to at least one of your classmates and try to guess which image matches their SOAP note.

5) Respond back to any classmates who attempted to identify the correct image from your post.
