Purpose
To assess your ability to:
- Discuss the functionality that networks bring to the strategic, tactical, and operational aspects of an organization.
Action Items
- Consider the following scenario: Your manager has asked you to speak to a group that will be visiting your company next week. Most of the people in the group have little to no knowledge about how networks operate in an organization.
- Prepare a two-page briefing that you will present to the visitors in which you outline the strategic, tactical, and operational benefits that a network brings to your organization.
5-2: MIS Project: Tactical Planning Discussion
Purpose
To assess your ability to:
- Accurately respond to and plan for the specific needs of an MIS project.
Action Items
- Collaborate with your classmates and professor in a discussion of the Web site upgrade for Woodworker Cabinets.
- Your professor, acting as the CEO of the organization, will facilitate negotiations between the departments to draft a high-level tactical plan.
