In addition to this reading, please choose at least one addition piece from the #15 Girls series to read (or listen to). These short pieces highlight the experiences of diverse adolescent girls across the world. #15 Teens Taking Control (Links to an external site.)
After you have completed the readings, please answer the following questions:
- What was one of the hardest things about being a teenager for you? How did your gender play a role, if at all, in your teen challenges?
- Based on the reading, what are some of the challenges for teen girls around the world?
- In what way(s) did you notice girls (or boys) resisting sexist practices or striving toward gender equality in these stories?
- What do these readings suggest about gender equality (or inequality) around the world?
