In other words, you do not have to incorporate everything that is discussed in here. You will see a clear comparison being drawn here with two very particular cultural groups. You can if you wish take advantage of this and draw similar comparison between your own cultural knowledge/life/experience and what the article discusses. You can, if are interested in history, make that comparison with any part of human history and civilisation that you are interested give you deliver THOROUGH ACADEMIC RESEARCH and reasoning for your argument.
