DIRECTIONS:

1.Discuss the African American Political Journey in the United States. Be sure to include the following:

b.How did the U.S. society struggle with issues of Black Citizenship, equality, and racial status in the antebellum period?
c.How did the African American political journey parallel civil rights organizing by other groups in the United States
2.Discuss how Latinx demands for civil rights paralleled civil rights organizing by other groups in the United States. Be sure to include the advantages and disadvantages faced by Puerto Ricans and Cubans in the United States.
3.Discuss how and why Whites racialized Asian immigrants along a shifting range “model minority” to “racial threat”. Be sure to include in your essay how Asian institutions and organizations used pan-ethnic identities like” Asian-American “to resist their racialization.
4.Explain the importance of voting rights to minority groups and efforts at disenfranchisement. Be sure to include challenges made against Native Americans, Blacks, Latinx peoples and Asians.
5.Assess continuing challenges to voting rights and the long-term outlook for the Voting Rights Act.
6.Discuss the purpose of the Voting Rights Act and the needs addressed by its major provisions
