Compose an annotated bibliography that includes:
at least one Background source about the life and/or times of your author. For older authors you might find an informative encyclopedia entry in the CREDO database. For more contemporary authors, you might have to consult a magazine profile found in the EBSCO or ProQuest databases.
at least four sources created by your author (***Note: you may use four texts from Ex. 1 and/or Ex. 2 plus another, or you may you use new texts you’ve discovered). These four sources (as ONE body of work) will serve as you primary Exhibit.
- at least one Argument/analysis source from a newspaper or magazine or scholarly journal that that analyzes your author’s work and/or makes a critical argument about that work. Use the EBSCO or Proquest databases.
at least one source from a scholarly journal that approaches your author’s work through an obvious Theoretical lens (some popular theoretical lenses include Marxist theory, Freudian theory, feminist theory, postcolonial theory, gender theory, critical race theory, etc.). Use the JSTOR or Project Muse databases.
