Brief Paper (5–7 pages)

By this week, you have explored several prominent schools of thought and their influence on subfields within these schools, such as structuralism and functionalism. Many lesser-known schools of psychology also emerged, and their major theories and key figures are also worth exploring both in their historical context and in their contributions to the field of psychology.

For this Assignment, you select one lesser-known school, such as Vygotsky’s cultural-historical school; a major school not covered in this course, such as Carl Rogers’s humanistic psychology; or a more recent school, such as dynamical systems theory, embodied psychology, or postmodern psychology. To supplement any gaps in the Learning Resources, you may need to conduct research in the Walden Library.

Include the following:

1. The school of thought and its central contribution to the field of psychology
2. The historical context of this school of thought
3. Key figures associated with this particular school of thought and their major contributions
