Students must submit a review of an academic related paper. Students shall select papers from conference sites or academic journals. Students will read the academic paper and prepare a summary of the paper. Submissions must include:
- An overview of the paper, including the main point of the paper.
- Contribution the paper makes to the research body of knowledge to the Cybersecurity community and an assessment on the validity of the research.
- Weak areas of the paper.
The reviewed papers do not have to be recent and students are encouraged to review at least one “seminal” paper in Information Security. Here are some examples:
The audience of your summary is you and your class to broaden your knowledge on research and provide ideas for future research. The paper doesn’t have to be related to pentesting but can be on any cybersecurity related topic.
