The paper is an op-ed on if recycling works and how does it contribute to sustainability. At the end of op-ed a Research Summary Sheet needs to be included and I will include an example of what a Research Summary Sheet looks like.
The op-ed needs: (Grading rubric is attached)
1) 5-10 sources (at least 2 have to be journal articles/academic sources)
2) The op-ed should be 1,250-1,300 words.
3) Tell readers why the topic is important.
4) Offer them your opinion on the issue.
5) Use descriptions and hyperlinks to cite your sources.
6) Acknowledge alternative viewpoints, and explain why you hold your opinion rather than alternatives.
7) Try to bring in your personal voice; if you can include a personal story that relates, do so.
8) Use the active voice (“I”), avoid jargon, and write in short, clear sentences.
