WK4 Covey Review

Describe the paradigms and principles of effective leadership.

.Textbook: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Powerful Lessons in Personal Change: by Stephen R. Covey

Instructions

Now is the time to roll up our sleeves and dig into Covey. He has much to say regarding the foundational principles of leadership, beginning with self. He begins with the following three chapters: Be proactive; Begin with the end in mind; Put first things first. All of these are part of what he calls Private Victory.

In these three chapters Covey is laying groundwork for effective leadership. He is starting with personal vision, personal leadership, and personal management. Remember this: No matter how successful you are publicly, it all starts privately. If you succeed publicly, but fail privately, you fail. Jesus cares about fruit born of character. The Christian community is in desperate need of those whose private self is foremost above, and then congruent with, their public self.
