Observing Play
Directions: Before viewing two (2) of the Observation Videos below review, The Importance of Play in Chapter 2 and The Cycle for Curriculum Planning in Chapter 3. View two (2) of the Observation Videos listed below and then write a paper that summarize what you viewed; and addresses the questions below:
- What developmental skill does the child/children appear to be working on?
- What stages or types of play are the child/children engaging in?
- Do the actions of the other children and or adults who interact with the child affect the outcomes of the child’s experience? How so?
- Do you see anything the teacher could do to extend the child’s learning?
- Do you see any changes needed to be made in the environment?
