Teresa would like you to gather a little more information on the potential risk of doing business in the countries you’ve put on your shortlist. The current plan is to have a salesforce (and maybe even a production facility) in the new market. For each of the three countries you’ve chosen to take a closer look at, consider the following:
Likelihood of terrorism and kidnapping of senior officials at your company
Likelihood of property seizure – expropriation, confiscation or nationalization
- Is there any history conflict or violence in this country? In the region?
- What is the level of corruption in these countries? Is corruption a way of doing business?
- What is the current relationship of the country with the United States?
- Provide a spreadsheet of your analysis – calling out any potential threats that you see for entering into any of the three countries.
