Search Strategies
My research question centers on the Coronavirus 2019 Diseases. My search strategy is to use various public health-related databases, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wonder database, the World Health Organization databases, and various scholarly articles that were released within the last 5 years. I will be using these databases to find data and information that can support my findings. My search terms or keyword that I will be using to guide the literature search will be focused on Covid-19 positive cases, re-infections, the covid vaccines (Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer) susceptibility to covid (comorbidities, race & ethnicities, gender, and age range), recovery and prevalent rates.
Boolean Operator
I will be utilizing the Boolean Operator to create a more focused search result by excluding or combining keywords through the utilization of certain words such as “and,” “and not,” “not,” and “or”. For example, the word “and” means including all the keywords used in the search, such as a search on Eggs and Waffles. The word “or” means the search result can contain either word, such a Eggs or Waffle. The words “not” or “and not” means the exclusion of certain keywords such as Eggs and not Waffle (Lotame, 2018).
