- Access the article via Canvas in the module titled “Abstract.” Read the article and summarize the results in the form of an abstract.
- Write the reference citation at the bottom of the page. Follow the EXACT citation format required by the Journal of Food Science. This format is as follows:
Author(s). (Year). Article title. Journal title. Volume number(Issue number), page(s).
Example:
Laughlin, J.L. (2021). The joy of teaching food science. Journal of Food Science. 29(3), 1001-1200.
- Write a 250-300 word abstract of the study in your own words, using the following guidelines:
- Give 1-2 introductory statements that explain the purpose of the study or the hypothesis being tested.
- Describe the methodology giving treatments and measurements made.
- Devote approximately 2/3 of the abstract to the results.
- Provide 1-2 interpretative statements (discussion) and a concluding remark to finish the abstract.
- All abstracts are typed using single spacing. However, for this assignment, please use double spacing so I can provide commentary. The citation and body should be separated by a double space. Margins should be 1 inch on both sides. The abstract is written in 1 single paragraph and references are not cited. Do not mix sections in the abstract. For example, results are just the results, no interpretations.
- Make sure you include your name and the date on the top of the assignment.
I will provide the article and more details for this assignment.
