1.The body needs oxygen to function properly and without oxygen our bodies cannot produce blood to supply our bodies. The way oxygen circulates throughout our body is by,” Travels through air sacs, oxygen moves across paper-thin walls to tiny blood vessels called capillaries and into your blood.”(Piola et al., 2009) A disease that interrupts the circulation of oxygen is Sickle Cell. “Sickle cell disease interferes with the delivery of oxygen to the tissues.”( Darshana et al., 2021) When oxygen doesn’t make its way to a tissue, it causes the cell to be irregular shaped, so oxygen isn’t just to breath it also plays a big role in cells in our body. -(rojas)
2.The body receives oxygen by inhaling air and passing the thin lining of the air sacs and into the blood vessels, which then proceeded to circulates. The oxygen circulates by being inside the air sac, which then the air moves across paper-thin walls to tiny blood vessels, called capillaries, and into your blood. One disease that can interrupt the circulation of oxygen is arteriosclerosis, during this process plaque builds up along the walls of your arteries. When the plaque gets worst it can create a bump and cause a blockage which can restrict the oxygen from flowing. There are many other different ways that diseases can stop the circulation of oxygen, but this is the main one that pulled up. -(moses)
3.We receive oxygen as we inhale, and it gets circulated all throughout our body. Oxygen gets combined with hemoglobin and it travels along our body inside air sacs in our blood vessels. If there is an interruption within the exchange or circulation of oxygen it can cause problems such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. COPD is a group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common conditions that make up COPD. This is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The economic and social burden related to COPD are expected to increase over the coming decades due to the continued exposure to COPD risk factors and the increasing aging of the world’s population. (Camus-Garcia, E. Pg.2) The obstruction in COPD is thought to be incompletely reversible and the product of environmental exposures such as tobacco or biomass fuel. (Leung, J. pg.5) -(garnica)
