You are a practice manager for an Internal Medicine physician. Up to this point you have had a secretary that has served as a secretary, doing billing, ordering, etc, and as the receptionist. However, as the practice has grown, it has become necessary for the secretary to focus on the financial and organizational needs of the practice. There is now a need for a person to serve as the first person to interact with the patient either by phone or in-person.
Prepare a Job Description for the person that will be the person to receive call from patients and will greet and process the patients that are seen in the office. (Front Desk Receptionist) This is NOT a job advertisement!!
Remember that the Job Descriptions should include:
- The Job Heading of title, location, title of supervisor.
- A Job summary
- A description of the Duties and Responsibilities
- The Job Specifications
