Networking Portfolio
SUMMARY:
So now that you’ve almost nailed down your personal brand, it’s time to sell it. But, to who? Your personal and professional network will evolve and grow over the length of your career, it’s time to get it started now. In the old days, you had a rolodex. Then, there were emails. And then MySpace, Facebook and Monster and Twitter and Instagram. Who knows where you will maintain your networks in the decades to come, but the important thing is to make sure that it’s maintained somewhere. In recognition of your impending leap into the “real world”, you will be putting together a list of contacts in the industry. While, you don’t need to contact them – of course, you can if you’d like, but that is not part of the assignment – you do have to verify that the contact information is up to date.
WHAT YOU’RE HANDING IN:
LinkedIn, Excel, Word, Rolodex….there are a lot of places to keep your contacts. Use the platform that works for you. For this assignment you will present an organized, robust, and well researched collection of contacts in the industry. Companies, producers, colleagues – there are literally thousands of possibilities in the Toronto area alone. Also, provide a quick outline of your sources.

EVALUATION:
This assignment is an individual assignment, and will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

LATE ASSIGNMENTS:
Assignments not submitted on or before the due date and time will receive an automatic 20% deduction. Students then have one week to submit the late assignment to be marked for a maximum 80% grade. Assignments received in excess of one week past the due date will receive a zero. The only exception to this rule will be for medical reasons, supported by a legitimate note from a medical practitioner.
Students are asked to communicate with their professor prior to a due date if they have issues with completing an assignment.
