Network Integration Design Project
Project Requirements, Tasks, and Deliverables
Requirements Summary
PrimeTech is a DC based game development company with 36 employees comprised of 13 software developers, 1 development manager, 7 employees in sales, 2 in IT, 6 in the administration, 4 in marketing, and 3 in accounting. Each department has its own server and printer. The company network infrastructure contains 3 access layer-2 switches and 2 routers (one for inter-vlan routing and the second one for access to the Internet via VFAST ISP). PrimeTech has recently purchased NuGames, a Bowie based company that provides online training for game software development.
NuGames has a small network that contains three servers (Accounting, Administration, Blackboard), three workstations for instructional content developers, five workstations for online training instructors, three workstations for sales staff and six workstations for administrative staff as well as two printers, two access layer-2 switches and two routers (one for inter-vlan routing and the second one for access to the Internet via GLOBAL ISP).
The two businesses have decided to integrate and link their network infrastructure using Static Routing on the edge routers. In addition, they have decided to continue using their current service with the existing ISPs but only use VFAST ISP as the primary and GLOBAL ISP as the backup.
Design, configure, test and implement a network infrastructure that connects the two businesses. Use Packet-Tracer version 8.0.1 for this project. Configure the password cisco on all network devices.
Project Technical Requirements
1.Use DHCP service on the routers at each site to lease Class C IPv4 private addresses to devices in each of the subnets at both sites.
2.Establish trunk links between switches and also to routers for inter-vlan routing (use the router on a stick implementation).
3.Enable Port security on all switch ports.
4.Online students are only allowed access to the Blackboard server at the NuGames site, but should be denied access to all other servers at both sites.
Based on the requirements described above develop a high level network topology diagram and tables:
1.Label all network devices
2.Label all workstations
3.Label all servers
4.Create a table of VLANs and ports assigned to those VLANs for each switch
5.Create a table of subnets assigned to the different VLANs
Install, configure and test the solution
1.Configure all devices
2.Test connectivity between devices and inter-vlan communications
3.Test security features implemented
Submit project documentation (Word document) and packet-tracer file via Blackboard by December 7, 2021.
1.Network topology diagram, tables and test results (in a single Word document)
2.Packet-Tracer file of the network implementation (use version 8.0.1 of packet-tracer)
