****Iam choosing to write about the important decision I am making to lose weight and the 3 causes for my decision is to feel healthy, to build my confidence, and to fit into a beautiful wedding dress by next year. ****
Assignment: : Using the comments I made on your rough draft as well as the information contained in the “Revising and Editing” section found on pp. 319-329 of Writing for Success, revise the rough draft of your cause and effect paper. This revision will then become the final draft which will be submitted for a grade through the Final Draft of Cause and Effect Paper tab of the Assignments section of the course site.
Readings: Be sure to review the following material before writing your final draft:
- Comments made on rough draft
- “Explanation of Example Cause and Effect Paper” found in the Content section of the course site
- PP. 319-329 of Writing for Success
- PP. 327-328 about correct word choice in Writing for Success
Due Date: The final draft is due by 11:59 Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, November 23, 2014
Length: Your final draft should be approximately 650 words in length.
- By “approximately,” I mean that you can come under the word count by 25 words and be o.k.. Papers that do not meet this word requirement will have points deducted. The amount deducted will depend on how far below the required word count your paper is.
Style: Since you are writing about a personal experience, you can use personal pronouns such as “I,” “me,” and “we” in your paper. You also can use contractions in your paper.
However, in order to give your paper a more academic tone, do not use the pronoun “you.” Using the pronoun “you” makes your paper sound too informal and conversational. In addition, do not use slang, idioms, or clichés in your paper. An explanation of slang and idioms can be found on pp. 210-213 of your textbook Writing for Success. An explanation of clichés can be found on p. 152 of your textbook Writing for Success. Your textbook can be found under the syllabus tab of the Content area of the course site.

|

|

4. Paper should logically and clearly follows the order of importance organization that is used in the sample cause and effect paragraph about being an Auburn fan. Final paper should be written as a single paragraph.

How to Submit Your Assignment: When you complete the assignment, you will submit it either by uploading it as an attachment or by cutting and pasting the assignment from your word processing program into the textbox. Both of these options appear at the bottom of the assignment page. If you cut and paste your assignment into the textbox, be sure to do so by choosing the option to “Paste from Word.” Using this option will maintain your original formatting. To access the “Paste from Word” option, click on the three dots that appear in the box in the far right hand corner of the textbox. After you do this, several more buttons should appear. Once these buttons appear, click on the arrow beside the picture of the clipboard in order to see the option “Paste from Word.” Click on this option and follow the directions provided.
If you submit your final draft as an attachment, please name it in the following way: FDCELast Name. For example, if I were submitting the final draft of the compare and contrast paper, I would name it FDCETolbert.
If you submit the final draft of the compare and contrast paper as an attachment, be sure to save it and attach it as a Rich Text Format (RTF) since the majority of computers can open an RTF attachment.
