Task: Create a Process Model of Procurement. Design your Model with the general SAP step process of Material Management, You don’t need to include all the steps. Use Lucid Charts to create your process Model. It isn’t necessary to include the exact steps

You may limit your process model to a certain segment of the process, or shorten the process to end at the step that makes sense for your model i.e. Creating a process model of the 3 Perfect Match steps. (Purchase Order, Goods Receipt, Invoice).

** Do not create the exact same process as the one you see below!

  • Vendor Master Data
    • Possible Exclusive Gateway (Yes or No)- Do we have a Vendor we want to use?
    • Possible Parallel Gateway – Vendor Master Data (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 9)
  • Create New Material Master
    • Possible Parallel Gateway- (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 11)
  • Purchase Requisition
    • Possible Parallel Gateway- (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 20-23)
    • Possible Exclusive Gateway- (Yes or No) Is Purchase Requisition Approved?
  • Purchase Order
    • Possible Parallel Gateway- (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 20-23)
    • Or just keep in a single task of the Purchase Order with no join.
  • Goods Receipt for Purchase Order
    • Possible Parallel Gateway- (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 34)
    • Possible Exclusive Gateway (Yes or No)
    • Material ordered correctly?
    • Correct quantity?
    • Over deliveries or Under deliveries?
  • Create Invoice Receipt from Vendor
    • Possible Exclusive Gateway (Yes or No) (Refer to Material Management PowerPoint Slide 35)
    • Or just keep in a single task of a Purchase order with no join
  • Post Payment to Vendor
  • Review General Ledger account balances

The Process Model Requirements.

  1. Start Event/End Event
  2. At least 12 tasks
  3. Three Gateways
    1. At least one Exclusive Gateway
    2. At least one Paralleled Gateway
  4. Color code the SAP Path (MM, FI)
  5. Include a legend or swim lanes for the SAP Path
  6. Overall Design- Easy to read, color contrast
  7. Upload as a pdf or a jpeg on the upper right corner of this page
