Hello! Can you please help me out with this problem?
In yarn bugs,
Red color is co-dominant purple and when both alleles are present the
offspring are multicolored ( both purple and red yard). Offspring can
also have either Blue, Green, Yellow, or turquoise legs. Blue and yellow
are incomplete and make Green when both alleles are present. Turquoise
is recessive to Blue and Yellow. Last, the buts can have 2 or 3 eyes. 2
eyes is dominant and 3 is recessive. All traits are autosomal.
Make a trait key for these yarn bug characteristics:
Body Color, Leg Color, Number of Eye stalks
A purple yarn bug mates with a multicolored yarn bug. What is the probability they will have pure Red offspring? Show your work
Two
multicolored yarn bugs with two eyes mate and have offspring. One of
the parents has blue legs and the other has yellow legs. 8 of the
offspring have green legs, 7 have yellow legs, 7 have blue legs, and 8
have turquoise legs. The majority of the babies had two eyes buy a small
portion of them had 3 eyes.
A. What are the genotypes of the parents for body color, leg color, and # of eyes?
______________________ and _____________________________________
B. How is it possible to have offspring with turquoise legs from two parents who have different colored legs?
C. What is the probability they will have multicolored offspring with 3 eyes and turquoise legs? Show your work.
Thanks in advance!
