She is coming in to the office today for a lab follow up. Her Total Cholesterol is 244 mg/dl, her LDL is 168 mg/dl, her HDL is 39 mg/dl, and her Triglycerides are 136 mg/dl. Her A1C is 5.8. She has never drank, smoked, or used illicit drugs. She is taking metformin, and a Multivitamin including Calcium & Vitamin D. She is not taking any blood pressure meds. You order a hypertensive and hyperlipidemia medications based on the latest guidelines.
