School nursing can be an important intermediary role between communities and their healthcare. School nurses can help serve their community’s children in a variety of ways. Local school nurses can help manage a child’s vaccination history and chronic illness experienced by children like diabetes and seizures. One such example of management of vaccines is by Rosen et al. in 2017, “School nurses are often health champions in the community connecting parents to medical information and seen as the trust-worthy communicator between schools, parents, and healthcare providers making them strong leaders for influencing the HPV vaccine uptake. They have the opportunity to address parents’ concerns about safety, side-effects, and where to receive the vaccine.” (536). The further education of staff and other children regarding food allergies and the risks associated with those with particular food allergies. School nursing can help manage disease processes and prevent outbreaks of other communicable diseases by helping to promote use of vaccinations and to educate on their efficacy to use in children.

In my local school district it’s common for each individual school to have their own school nurse for that school’s population. They operate like a network in my local school district and have a main office located in the local school board office. They manage aspects of student healthcare like vaccination records and disease management. The school nurses also operate to educate the students they work for and with. In my local school district they educate on things like asthma, diabetes, food allergies, insect sting allergy and seizures. They offer numerous action plans throughout the school district and help with screening for other diseases in student populations. I think this service is vastly important to students and their families and can really help to manage chronic illnesses in early childhood. By having this service available to children and their families communities can see a decrease in communicable infection rates in their communities. School nurses can best serve their communities to educate the population they serve on common diseases and illnesses. By doing so they can prevent complications associated with these diseases and promote health and wellness in the community.

How school health is delivered is supposed to be delivered within my local school system. For students with chronic health conditions, school nurses and other health care providers play a large role in the daily management of their conditions. School health nurses are responsible for arranging care by communicating with the student’s parents and health doctors. The way that health services are delivered her is, the nurse educates the student and family on ways to stay healthy. If a child has a chronic disease the health nurse helps the child to be as normal as possible, by medication teaching and proper usage of the medications. If the child is developing a new disease the health nurse educates the child on how to handle the disease, how to deal with the new lifestyle changes.

the schools in my area do not have a school health nurse assigned, but there are school nurses. We will now discuss the difference between a school nurse and a school health nurse. There are school nurses but for my school and school district I don’t think that she is a “school health nurse”. When I speak of a school health nurse, I think about nurses educating on childhood diseases, or them educating on the prevention of childhood disease. The nurse would also teach the student how to deal with things like depression, abuse and promoting family involvement for each disease. When talking about a school health nurse, I think about the nurse giving resource solutions, passing out condoms to the teenagers, and advisement on STD prevention.

The school nurses in my area mainly treat minor problems in the school like minor cuts and fevers and childhood allergies. The school nurse will care for a child that has chronic problems like asthma. They will also care for the child if they already have sustained medications like rescue inhales, allergy medications, and NSAIDs for monthly

And established School services, for example, the teenage children that are having sex and were not cramps.

health care needs within the school district are managed by the ready to share it with their parents, were distributed condoms and other contraceptives to prevent STDs and pregnancy.

School health services staff can help all students with preventive care such as flu shots and vision and hearing screening, as well as acute and emergency …

Ways my school handles health promotion and management of existing health problems and how they are addressed. They are handled by virtual health, which teaches healthy behavior, and family engagement.

Health nurses are very good to prevent childhood illness and educate on the existing, maybe one day the schools will only have school health nurses and not just school nurses
