The Assignment:
With your assigned lab group, make a 2-minute performance about a topic that is IMPORTANT to everyone in your group.
- Find a topic that is exciting and timely for everyone. It can be political, personal, dramatic, comedic, or all of the above. What story needs to be told right now?Read the example scripts for some ideas.
- Content must be ORIGINAL.You may be inspired by another artist or piece of art, but you should make something else in response to that inspiration.
- Everyone must be equally involved in creating your performance. You may choose to split up tasks or work on every aspect together. Who is interested in writing? Acting? What special skills does each person have that you can utilize?
- How will you utilize the liveness of your performance? How will you use the space?Will you make us laugh or cry?What feeling will you leave us with – a political or intellectual question? A feeling of connection, joy, devastation, motivation
