MUSI 1310 – 001/004 CONCERT REPORT
GOAL:
Viewing concerts and live performances can enliven the appreciation one has for music. Exposing students to various genres of music will enlighten a student’s perspective of the various styles of music available in today’s media.
OBJECTIVE:
Any worthwhile study of music must delve into the actual sounds or acoustics and the way they operate together to create musical meaning. To talk intellectually about such matters, students will need to develop at least a rudimentary technical vocabulary, a way of talking about specific musical features.
The objective of a concert report is to identify such characteristics through observation and listening of performers.
Please use the identifying characteristics of music found in the introduction section of the text (“talking about music” pg. 1-16).
