REPORTING THE EVENT:
- The report should be typed in Microsoft Word in 12-point Times New Romans font, single-spaced with 1” margins. Microsoft Word and other apps in the Microsoft Office Suite are available through Canvas if you do not have access to them already.
- Type (or copy and paste) questions as well as responses in your report. Your responses should be thorough. Go beyond saying, “I liked this song” or “I was bored,” to discuss the mood of the song/movement, the texture, the musical period in which it was created, etc., as indicated.
- When I ask for background information on the/a featured performer, I want you to find information about the performer(s), NOT information on what is on the stage behind the performer.
- The instructions for “Compositions/Larger Musical Works Performed” require that you answer each of these questions FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL SELECTION or MOVEMENT IN A LARGER WORK PERFORMED. If you give me a blanket statement for the entire performance like, “It went fast and then slow at some places,” of “It was quadruple meter,” I will deduct points. If you don’t remember what these terms or questions refer to, use your textbook to refresh your memory. An example for how to complete this section of the part is in the Canvas Files.
- The link(s) for the performance(s) you watched for your report needs to be included in the report.
- Upload your completed Word document through Canvas.
Select one OPTION from this category. If the option you select includes more than one (1) video, you are responsible for reporting on each video in the option. You may combine the information into one report or do separate reports on each video in the option. You will not receive full credit if you don’t report on ALL VIDEOS IN THE OPTION.
