In this assignment you will submit both a video and a written paper for grading.
- Review the different types of health programs, initiatives and actions in your readings for this week.
- Choose one type of health program, initiative or action to develop for yourself. This means you are creating something new that will address a health need or public health issue.
- Write a comprehensive description of your health program, initiative, or action. In that description, be certain to include all the pertinent information that may be important to program evaluators (e.g. itemized budget, timeline for implementation(s), etc.). Note: If you look ahead you will see you are actually creating a hypothetical job description, so the more detail the better.
Part I – Discussion Video Forum:
- Copy and paste the link to your video to the Discussion Video Forum. Use a screencast program (Snagit, (Links to an external site.) Screencast-O-Matic, (Links to an external site.)) to create a video presentation for your program description. Your video must not exceed five minutes. Make certain the video includes PowerPoint slides and/or imagery, just you reading from a script will not be eligible for full points, as that is not a video presentation.
- Use data, pictures, graphics, and other visual components to help make your point.
- Do not include your budget in your video. (Your budget should only be included in your paper)
- Copy and paste the link to your video to the Discussion Video Forum and place the link also within your paper submission.
Part II – The Program Description Paper:
- Again, ensure that you include the link to your video in your paper.
- Must be two to three double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style (Links to an external site.) as outlined in the Writing Center (Links to an external site.).
- Must include a separate title page (Links to an external site.) with the following:
- Title of paper
- Student’s name
- Course name and number
- Instructor’s name
- Date submitted
- Must include introduction and conclusion (Links to an external site.) paragraphs.
- Must use at least four scholarly sources produced within the last five years from the University of Arizona Global Campus Library—no websites.
- The Scholarly, Peer Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. - The Local Public Health Department Paper
