The purpose of this assignment is to further develop students’ understanding of the process of developing a health intervention. You will continue to work with the same county/health issue (see below) as for your first assignment so that you can incorporate your knowledge of the community from your health assessment. You can choose to focus your intervention on primary, secondary or tertiary prevention levels.

Your assignment should be double-spaced and approximately 2-3 pages in length, not including references. References must be in APA format. Please put your name on your paper and number your pages.

  1. 1) Describe three best practices in developing any public health intervention.
  2. 2) Based on your assigned scenario, select an evidence-based intervention that you would like to use as a model for your intervention. Provide a brief description of this evidence- based intervention.
  3. 3) Based on your assigned scenario and the evidence-based intervention that you are using as a model, develop an intervention to address your targeted health issue. Describe your intervention and be sure to include:
    1. Goal of your intervention
    2. Describe specifically what you will do (i.e., program activities)
    3. Who is your target population?
    4. What is the setting where you will conduct your intervention?
    5. How often per month will you run your intervention?
    6. How long will it last
    7. Who will implement the intervention (e.g., health educator, nurse, teacher, physician, community health worker
    8. 4) Explain how you have made specific adjustments to your intervention to accommodate your community’s cultural values and practices. (Hint: Think about what you learned about your community from the community health assessment.)
