For this assignment, you must attend a minimum of 3 open meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or Al-Anon, and then write about your experiences.
The body of the paper must be 5–6 pages (not including title and reference pages). Each section must be approximately 1 page. Be sure to separate sections with current APA headings. You must include 3–5 references, 3 of which must be from peer-reviewed journal articles. Current APA format is required. An abstract is not required for this assignment.
Required format:
- Introduction: Provide a clear overview of the paper’s content.
- Brief summary of peer-reviewed literature regarding the effectiveness of this model of treatment. (Based on research, is it a good model of treatment?) ** You will be required to include information from at least 3 peer-reviewed journal articles for this section.
- Name and brief history of organization (describe what it is). *Note that information from the course materials or other outside sources must be utilized and properly cited in this section.
- How the meetings are run/model of treatment (How it is done). A discussion of the 12 Step model and different 12 Step meeting formats should be included. *Note that information from the course materials or other outside sources must be utilized and properly cited in this section.
