Our Second weeks materials have mostly dealt with values and how values impact climate denial or not, and how individuals communicate with respect to climate change can be improved if their are shared values are recognized.
Viewing each of these resources through the lens of your major or chosen profession select two quotes from each of the major assignments, Rising chapter 1, Hoffman Chapters 1 & 2, the Hayhoe video and the essay A Green New Deal For All of Us. One quote should illustrate one of the authors values that you can best relate to, and one that you can least relate to or have trouble understanding. You should describe why each quote speaks to you that you can relate to. With the difficult passages explore your lack of understanding or inability to relate. Why do you think you can’t relate to that value or idea? Do the ideas you have trouble with link to ideas discussed in other works in the course?
